This Policy Statement confirms the Management’s concern and commitment to safety matters and expects employees to adhere to these requirements.

The Company will ensure that all reasonable and practicable steps are taken to ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of its employees, the General Public and any other such as Visitors, Contractors, etc., who may be affected by its activities.

All employees must abide by the Company's Policy and they shall also accept and carry out their individual responsibilities safely.

Management and supervisory staff with specific responsibilities for Health and Safety, must carry these out and ensure the various statutory obligations placed on the Company are adhered to at all times.

Employees who authorise or instruct other people to carry out work for the Company must ensure that all aspects of Health and Safety are taken into consideration before allowing work to proceed.

Safety information is provided to appropriate personnel in the form of Policies, Procedures and Manuals which will be reviewed and updated regularly in order to take account of new legislation, codes of practice and other safe working procedures.

In its effort to eliminate unsafe and unhealthy conditions thereby reducing accidents and industrial diseases, the Company will ensure facilities exist for effective consultation between Management and employees' on all Health and Safety matters.

Whilst the Management accepts that Health and Safety is one of their responsibilities, employees must also share this responsibility by fulfilling their obligation which requires them to: -

  • Take reasonable care of their own Health and Safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

  • Co-operate with Management and enable them to fulfil all relevant statutory requirements.

  • Not to interfere with or misuse anything provided for their Health and Safety.
All relevant statutory legislation and Company Rules and Procedures must be complied with and employees shall help in this respect by keeping their work areas as safe as possible.

This statement of Policy is applicable to all Company operations and activities.

The Management of Metro Contracting Est. (METRO) gives their full support to all those who endeavour to carry out the Company's Health and Safety Policy.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT

As with the Health and Safety Policy, METRO recognises its obligations under all current environmental legislation and is committed to continuously review environmental practices and identifying ways of using materials and energy more efficiently so minimising waste and pollution.
